About Passage Home
Since 1991, we have helped over 1,000 families to achieve self-sufficiency
We have grown from one part-time director, to a staff of 16 in four locations. We own or operate 82 units of affordable, multi-family housing in Raleigh. We are governed by an eleven member Board of Directors.
Helping families in transition means providing “transitional housing” — the intermediate step between homelessness or incarceration — to self-sufficiency. Transitional housing is provided to women with children.
We provide apartment units at below market rate rents, along with intensive case management to focus on life goals, career, parenting and setting a budget.
All of our adult clients are required to work full-time. Each is expected to adhere to life goals that are set with the help of a caseworker.
When families are strong, neighborhoods thrive.
When neighborhoods are strengthened, families thrive.

"No one will hire you if you check that box that says "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?" No matter how hard you try, you can't undo that. Passage Home has helped me move forward and develop the skills and the confidence to get a better job — despite my past. I no longer feel unworthy."
